How To install our premium & free WordPress plugins

You are here:

We develop several free and premium WordPress security and admin plugins. You can download and install the free plugins on your site from the official WordPress plugins repository. The premium plugins should be downloaded from a personalized link we send you when you buy a plugin.

This post explains the three different methods you can use to install both free and premium WordPress plugins.

Method 1: Install a plugin from the WordPress repository

Use this method to install any free plugin from the official WordPress repository, such as WP Security Audit Log and Website File Changes Monitor.

  1. Login to your WordPress dashboard
  2. Click Plugins and the Add New button
  3. Use the search form to search for a particular plugin (e.g. Website File Changes Monitor)
  4. Click the Install Now button to install the plugin
  5. When the plugin is installed click Activate to activate the plugin and start using it.

Method 2: Install a WordPress plugin by uploading the zip file

Use this method to install both free and premium plugins which you have downloaded already.

  1. Login to your WordPress dashboard and navigate to the Plugins page
  2. Click Add New and then Upload Plugin in the top left corner
  3. Click Choose File to navigate to the plugin’s zip file you downloaded on your computer
  4. Once the file is uploaded click the Install Now button to install the plugin
  5. When the plugin is installed click Activate to activate the plugin and start using it.

Method 3: Install a WordPress plugin by uploading the files directly to the site

Use this method to install both free and premium plugins which you have downloaded already. This is the least popular method because everything is done manually. Only use this method if you cannot use the other two methods.

  1. Connect to your WordPress site via FTP or SSH
  2. Navigate to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  3. Extract the downloaded plugin zip file on your computer
  4. Upload the extracted plugin folder and files
  5. When the upload is ready, login to your WordPress dashboard
  6. Click Plugins and the installed plugin should be shown as installed
  7. Click Activate to activate the plugin.
