What happens when a WordPress user password expires?
By default, when users’ passwords expire they can continue working. They can change the password the next time they try to login.
However, you can configure WPassword to instantly terminate a user’s session when their password expires. Note that this can lead to unsaved work and loss of data.
Instantly terminate users’ WordPress sessions when passwords expires
Follow the below procedure to terminate the WordPress users’ session when their password expires:
- Login to your WordPress dashboard
- Navigate to Settings > Password Policies in the menu
- Click the Settings tab
- Enable the setting Terminate sessions on password expire.
That is it. The next time a user’s password expires their session will be instantly terminated.
